August 2016 ATC Challenge #PASCATC816

Hey there!!! Thanks for stopping by!!

As promised I have the ATC challenge for August completed and ready to share with you guys. This challenge is a part of the monthly Pick-A-Stick challenge and has been recently added to the mix. For more info visit the offical facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PickAStickchallenge/

So here is what I came up with following the prompts given:

The video for this ATC can be found ----> HERE <----

I think the ATC turned out really cute and it made me remember just how much my pup means to me. She is currently 13 years old and we have been having some issues with her loosing her cognitive ability. At night, she runs around like a spazoid panting and jumping on the bed. Its hard to watch, and if I am being completely honest, it gets really really frustrating especially at 2 am when your face has become her stomping ground. This challenge was a nice reminder to me that my dog is my best friend, she has been there for me at my worst and has loved me unconditionally and I too should do the same for her. Anyway, I don't want to get too sappy on you all but I just wanted to share with everyone what this ATC really means to me.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed todays post. If you did please let me know in the comments below, I would love to hear from you!!

I will be back at it soon with more fun projects to share so be sure to always keep your eyes peeled for that!! Until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

Sunday Share: Birthday Explosion Box!!

Hello everyone!!
I hope you all have had a fabulous weekend!! Are any of you watching the Olympics?? I haven't been able to catch much of it yet but I do intend to watch it when I can. I like the gymnastics, archery, volleyball, swimming, diving... oh my, I guess I like it all!! What about you? What do like to watch most??

Anyhoo, I thought it would be fun to share with you the explosion box that I made for my moms 60th birthday. It was my first attempt at making something like this and although I didn't come up with the original idea of an explosion box I did have to come up with a template to use on my own for this one. Luckily, I have my husband to draw up some of the designs for me with his fancy schmancy computer programs (he is a mechanical designer/graphic artist)!!

So, my idea was to include my whole family so that the box was extra special for her. To make that happen what I did was assign everyone a letter (or number) and have them create that letter and then take a picture of themselves holding it someway. It ended up being a banner that I created to spell out HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY when it was all put together. I also had everyone tell me a few things that they loved about my mom that I then incorporated into the box as well. To make it even more fun, I embellished with distress ink, gel pens, die-cut flowers & butterflies, a embossed banner and even made her her very own personalized "60" ribbon she could wear for the day!! Originally I had no idea I was going to do an explosion box and tossed around a few other ideas but I think it turned out to be the perfect way to include all the things I wanted to and my mom really, really loved it (which was the best part)!! Here are some pictures of the finished box:

To see more details and see how the box opens, etc you can find the video ----> HERE <----

I hope you have enjoyed this Sunday Share of my explosion box. If you would be interested in a full tutorial on something like this or would like to see more scrapbook related projects let me know in the comments below!!

That's all for now!! Until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

ICAD 2016 Days #59-61!! The final 3!!!

Hey guys!! How are you all doing??

I have just finished up the last 3 cards for the 2016 ICAD challenge and I am really, really happy!! I have enjoyed this challenge a lot and am very glad I did it, but boy was it ever a challenge!! Just coming up with ideas for each card and finding time to create on a daily basis was indeed a feat but I am happy to say I did a pretty good job and I am thrilled to have all the cards!!

Anyway, I will get right to it. Here are the final 3 cards:

The video for them can be found ----> HERE <-----

The first card was really just me having fun and trying to use up some extras around my craft desk. The next one, lets just call it wishful thinking since I know we still have some summer left before the glorious cool days of fall approach!! Fall is my favorite season, for many reasons but especially because August in Houston is so darn hot!! The last card was my way of saying goodbye to ICAD for the year, it was a pretty simple card but I think it finished the challenge off nicely!!

I hope you all have enjoyed watching me complete the ICAD challenge. I have many, many new things in the works so be sure to keep up to date via my blog, YouTube, or facebook!!

Looking forward to chatting again soon!! Until then, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

ICAD 2016 Days #53, 54, & 55!!

Hi all!!

Although I know I won't be on time, I am nearing the finish line with ICAD 2016 and I am so excited!! This has definitely been a challenge for me to say the least but I have had so much fun doing it and am glad to have 61 cool pieces of art that I can look back on and feel like I accomplished something!! That's what its been about for me; Setting a goal, sticking to it with determination and endurance, & enjoying the creative process. For me, art isnt always about perfection or making a Mona Lisa every time you sit down to create, its about the process and ICAD really put that all into perspective for me.

What about you? Have you learned anything new by taking part in the ICAD challenge this year? What is art about for you?? Let me know in the comments!!

Now for my card share of the day! I have 3 new ones for you!!

The video for these cards can be found ----> HERE <----

I made all 3 when I was sick and just wasn't feeling very "alive" let alone creative!! I was trying to incorporate the colors yellow and purple into each card as a sort of challenge for myself. I think they all turned out pretty neat! I hope you like them!!

I have a few more ICADs in the works and then I will be on to sharing something new!! Stay tuned for whats ahead!! Until then, HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

ATC Challenge July 2016 #PASCATC716

Hello everyone!!

I am back in that land of the living!! lol!! I have been out with a cold for the past several days!! It feels good to be alive!! haha

Anyhoo, one of the main reasons I made myself get up and going today was because I was really wanting to take part in the PASC groups first ever ATC challenge and today was my last chance to do it!! If ya'll dont know what I am talking about you should check out the facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PickAStickchallenge/ The challenge stems from the main monthly challenge of doing an art journal page with 10 prompts only for the ATC challenge 3 of those prompts are chosen for you to create an ATC with. So here is what I made with the prompts:

The video for the process can be found ----> HERE <-----

I had a lot of fun coming up with ideas for the prompts and just getting back into being creative again after being out for a bit!! I hope you enjoyed this card. If you did let me know and also join us in all the fun, there's a new challenge every month and August is just around the corner!!

Well ya'll, thanks for stopping by!! I will be back soon with tons of new ICADs to share as they are wrapping up today too so watch out for those!! Until then, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

ICAD 2016 Days # 51 & 52!!!

Hey there everybody!! How is your hump day going??

We are getting close to the end of ICAD 2016 and I am catching up as best I can!! Today I have 2 more ICADs to share with you and this time I actually filmed the process for them!! haha!!

Anyway, here are the cards:

The process video can be found ----> HERE <----

The first card was a mop up that started with splotchy red paint, the checkered duct tape and the cardboard heart. To me, it fit perfectly with the saying "love always wins" because I saw it as a chess game and the heart was King. The next card was just me playing around with some flower stencils and doodling a bit. All in all, I enjoyed creating both these cards and am happy with how they turned out. I hope you enjoy them!!

Well, thats all for now folks!! Have a great day and HAPPY CRAFTING!!

ICAD 2016 Days #43, 44, 45, & 46!!

Hey everyone!!

In an effort to catch up on ICAD I created 4 cards at one time!! It was a lot of fun to do and I got to just play around a bit, doodle, use up some scraps, etc!! I also found a new alpha stamp I just love!! Its the Dylusions "Clearly Alpha" stamp set!! It stamps so well and the lettering is super fun!! I hope you enjoy the cards as much as I enjoyed making them!

Here they are:

The video for these cards can be found ----> HERE <----

I have a few things coming up that I am excited to share and of course some more ICADs in the works so be sure to watch out for all of that!!

Until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

ICAD 2016 Day #41 & #42!!

Hello everyone!! Happy, happy Friday!!

I have 2 ICADS to share today!! I have been trying the best I can to keep putting out these ICADs and I will be honest, it hasn't been super easy (coming up with ideas, editing, life, etc.) but the challenge is almost complete and I have enjoyed pushing myself and my creativity a bit!! I hope you have enjoyed the process also, if you have let me know!!

Ok, so here are todays cards:

The process video for these cards can be found ----> HERE <----

Neither of these cards are my favorites, and thats ok. Even the best artists struggle at times to create something great! If anything, ICAD  has stretched me a little in that it has made me let go (somewhat) of the ideal that everything has to be perfect and has allowed me to be ok with just getting messy and create!!

So, with ICAD almost at an end, I want to hear from all of you on what you would like to see next. Do you want to see more art journal pages? What about Canvas'? Is there a challenge you would like to see me take on?? Let me know in the comments below!! I do have a few things I plan on doing but I want to know what you would like to see also!!

Alrighty folks! Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a fantastic weekend and until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

Pick-A-Stick Challenge 7/2016 # PASC716

Good afternoon everyone!!

So with all that said, here is my July Page:

The video for this page can be found ----> HERE <----

This was quite a hard one for me this month as the steps weren't in the order that I would've done them!! I managed to pull it off though and I think it turned out pretty OK. Is it my favorite thing ever? No, not really but thats all part of the challenge!! It gets you outside of the box and its so much fun to see what everyone does with the prompts and the ideas you have may not be what someone else does!! Anyway, I hope you like it!! If you do let me know in the comments below!!

Thats it for today folks!! Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to come back again soon for more videos/posts!!  Until then, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

The video for this card can be found ----> HERE <----

I created this card really easily and quickly with some stamping and a butterfly I had in my stash from IKEA. Its so fun to find things to use for your art in places you wouldn't normally think to look!! The possibilities are endless!!

Anyway, I will be posting a few more things really soon so check back for that!!

Until then, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

ICAD 2016 Day # 37, 38, & 39!!

Hello there everyone!!

Its good to be back at it after a week break to join my family and celebrate my brother and his fiance getting married!! It was a beautiful wedding and a super eventful week. I had a blast but I can honestly say I am so glad to be back home and especially to be back in my craft room!!

I am trying to get caught up still on ICAD so I have 3 cards to share today. I may not be able to catch up before the event is over, but some day, some how, I will have all 61 cards finished!! How is everyone else doing with their cards? Have you all been able to keep up with the daily challenge?? Let me know in the comments below!!

Alright, without further ado (as they say) here are ICADS 37, 38, & 39!!

The video for these cards can be found ---> HERE <----

I had fun making these card and hope that you enjoy them!!

The first one was an idea that came to me while I was taking a nice relaxing bath thinking how lucky I am that I can see the moon from my bathroom window. Then I noticed that my Sonic cup I was drinking from had the words "Destination: Relaxation" on it and I thought well, isn't that super appropriate, so I figured I needed to make an ICAD that represented that.  The other two ICADs were just me having fun, trying to use some stamps from my collection that I have yet to use, that kind of thing.

Anyway, I hope you are all having a great summer. Let me know what fun things you have been up to this summer (crafty or otherwise)!! I would love to hear from you!!

Until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

Hello everybody!!

I hope everyone is having a good week!! Today I have another ICAD to share with you!!

#36:

The video for this card can be found ----> HERE <----

I enjoyed making this card so, so much!! Its full of texture and layers and I am all about that!! I tried to incorporate some "upcycling" into this card too by using some cardboard box scraps and a plastic wine bottle sleeve.

Well, I hope you enjoyed todays card!! I will be back soon with more lovely cards to post!! Until then, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

ICAD 2016 Day # 35!!

Hi all!!

I am busy getting things organized and looking better here on my blog, facebook, and YouTube!! Its been a fun experience so far learning how to do it all and I hope to keep improving my videos and posts so that you all have as enjoyable of an experience as possible when viewing my work!! It will probably be a continual work in progress until I find just the right look for everything!!

Also, just a quick shout out to all my subscribers over on my YouTube channel, you all ROCK!! I just hit 101 subscribers and I am so awed and grateful that so many people have been so supportive!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Seriously, I am so beyond thankful!! I will be hosting a giveaway soon (once I gather some stuff for it) for that milestone so be sure you're subscribed to my channel for a chance to win!!

Ok! So enough of all that stuff!! Here is ICAD #35:

The video for this card can be found ----> HERE <----

This was a real quick card that started as a mop up. I have been working on another project (I will share that soon!!) and had all kinds of misc left over scraps of paper and some letters and flowers that I cut with my silhouette so I was trying to use them on this card. I think it turned out really great and love all the bright colors and simplicity of the layout!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Hopefully you enjoyed this card. Be sure to check back for more ICADs and other projects soon and leave a comment below so I know you were here and can say hello!! Until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!!

ICAD 2016 Day #33 and #34!!

Happy Friday everybody!!

It is amazing how fast this week flew by!! I feel like just yesterday it was Monday and I was at the parade watching all the pretty 4th of July floats whisk on by!!

Anyway, I have two new ICADs for you today!! Woo Hoo!!

So without further blabbering, here they are:

ICAD #33 & #34!!

The video for these cards can be found ----> HERE <----

I really enjoyed making these and challenging myself to use a limited color palette (sticking to Orange, Yellow, Blue, and Brown). I was also able to add a bit of texture with some modeling paste which is something I just absolutely love to do!! Whats more is, I was finally able to use some of the random pieces of ephemera I have in my stash that I never seem to have use for!! So all in all, this wasn't just a fun card to make but it also was a very quick, easy and productive way to  use some of my stash that hasn't gotten much love lately!! I hope you enjoy it!! If you do let me know in the comments below!!

Well folks, thats all for me!! I am sending you all fabulous and relaxing weekend wishes and until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

ICAD 2016 Day #30!

Hey all!!

I have been so out of sync recently and it seems like I am playing the catch up game!! Thats ok though, I figure I will get these cards all done, even if it isnt exactly on the day its supposed to be!!

Did everyone from the states have a good 4th of July?? I did!! My husband and I went to our communities parade (it was so hot!!), then we took our bikes to the pool to cool down for a while. After that I crashed (probably from the heat) and napped for quite a long time. We finished the day with some hot dogs and movies. It was a fun day!! What did you all do??

So, like I said, I am behing on ICAD's. (insert unhappy face here) When I started this challenge I didn't really realize  all I had going on during this time that would keep me from completing my daily card, so for that I am sorry!! I have just been so busy with summer activities and life that I haven't had tons of time to make a card and upload a video... but enough with the lame excuses (lol) I have ICAD #30 available now!!

So here it is!

The video for the card can be found ----> HERE <----

This was a quick card but I was glad to have just a bit of time to play!! It really helps if you keep some index cards around to mop up paint and stuff from your projects, then you can make a wonderful, quick, and easy start to a card when you are short on time!!

Well, thats all for now folks!! I have a few life things coming up here in the next week or so, so I might be hit or miss with my ICADs. I will upload as soon as possible though, I promise, so check back for that!!

Until then, HAPPY CRAFTING!!

Mixed Media Art Canvas- "Let Love Win"

Hi yall!!

I bet you thought I was only capable of doing ICAD's, am I right? Well, get ready to be shocked and awed!! haha, Im only kidding (mostly)!! But really because of the ICAD challenge I have mainly only posted my daily cards but today I wanted to shake things up a bit and make a mixed media canvas for you all!!

I will say it was nice to have a bigger area to work with (although the canvas isn't huge at 6"x 6") and to be free to just create whatever came to mind with no pressure on time. I did take an idea that I used on one of my ICAD cards and applied it to my canvas because I liked it so much. If you watch my videos and follow me you will know what I am talking about.

So, without further ado, here is my "Let Love Win"  mixed media canvas:
