Hello everyone!!
I hope you all have had a fabulous weekend!! Are any of you watching the Olympics?? I haven't been able to catch much of it yet but I do intend to watch it when I can. I like the gymnastics, archery, volleyball, swimming, diving... oh my, I guess I like it all!! What about you? What do like to watch most??
Anyhoo, I thought it would be fun to share with you the explosion box that I made for my moms 60th birthday. It was my first attempt at making something like this and although I didn't come up with the original idea of an explosion box I did have to come up with a template to use on my own for this one. Luckily, I have my husband to draw up some of the designs for me with his fancy schmancy computer programs (he is a mechanical designer/graphic artist)!!
So, my idea was to include my whole family so that the box was extra special for her. To make that happen what I did was assign everyone a letter (or number) and have them create that letter and then take a picture of themselves holding it someway. It ended up being a banner that I created to spell out HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY when it was all put together. I also had everyone tell me a few things that they loved about my mom that I then incorporated into the box as well. To make it even more fun, I embellished with distress ink, gel pens, die-cut flowers & butterflies, a embossed banner and even made her her very own personalized "60" ribbon she could wear for the day!! Originally I had no idea I was going to do an explosion box and tossed around a few other ideas but I think it turned out to be the perfect way to include all the things I wanted to and my mom really, really loved it (which was the best part)!! Here are some pictures of the finished box:

I hope you have enjoyed this Sunday Share of my explosion box. If you would be interested in a full tutorial on something like this or would like to see more scrapbook related projects let me know in the comments below!!
That's all for now!! Until next time, HAPPY CRAFTING!!
